Happy National Creativity Day! Today is a day to celebrate the imaginative and to explore why we do what we do! I have to be honest, if you asked me a year ago if I thought I was a creative person, I would have said absolutely not! But let's jump in and discuss creativity.
I used to think that creativity was only for master painters or designers. But now I see it in so many different forms. For example, anyone can be creative in the kitchen by taking what's in the pantry and making a meal out of it. Or, when faced with a lot of problems, being able to see the solution through all the chaos. Creativity isn't just a God-given gift, it's a skill that we can all develop over time.
I'm so glad I took the time to explore my creativity this past year. It's helped me realize that anyone can be creative if they just open their minds to the possibilities. I find that to be really inspiring and it makes me very happy. before, I thought my creativity was gone for good once I entered the adult world with all its responsibilities. But learning that it can be found and used in everyday life has given me hope.
No matter what is going on in the world, creativity can be a source of solace. It can help us process our feelings, work through problems, and express ourselves in new and meaningful ways. For me, podcasting has been an amazing outlet for exploring the complex emotions that come with living through a pandemic and witnessing racial injustice. It has allowed me to process my thoughts and experiences, while also creating a safe space for others to do the same. *For more in-depth tips check out a previous podcast episode with guest, Gretchen Voolich
No matter what you do in life, whether you're a content creator, artist, or just someone trying to figure out how to make a meal, you have a creative spark. Today is the day to celebrate that! So tell me, why do you create?
